A note on the McNeal feedlot

Howdy, Cochise County.

I’m taking off from this Sunday’s edition because it’s my birthday weekend. But I’ll catch everyone up with local news next Sunday.

I’ve been talking with people about the proposed McNeal feedlot for over three weeks now, but I’ve put off writing about it because I didn’t have answers for all the questions I was receiving.

I’ve been in touch with the son of the man who’s applying for the permit, but so far their family hasn’t agreed to have a chat with me about the situation.

Meanwhile, I’ve talked with people who live in the area and they shared some insights and perspectives on the matter.

I asked the local Quaker community if they could organize a community meeting about the topic (I’m sure I’m not the only one who was thinking that would be a good idea), and they have. I’ll be there and let you readers know how it went.
